Sophomore Year (2005): Played in all 13 games in 2005, starting the final six in place of injured senior Gerard Ross...recorded a season-high two pass break-ups in the ACC Championship against Virginia Tech...sure tackler who tied for 10th on the team in total tackles with 35, second among cornerbacks...registered a season-high in tackles with six in games against Maryland and Virginia Tech...had two solo stops vs. Penn State in the Orange Bowl.
Alex Boston
Sophomore Year (2005): Saw extensive playing time with injuries at defensive end...appeared in all 13 games, starting seven of the final nine games...finished third behind starters Kamerion Wimbley and Darrell Burston in tackles for loss among defensive ends with 4.5...recorded a TFL in four of the team's last five games, including a season-high two at Florida...totaled 18 tackles on the year and had a season-high four against Penn State in the Orange Bowl...had three stops in games against Maryland, NC State, and Florida...was named the defense's King of the Boards by the coaching staff at the conclusion of spring practice...was also recognized as the most improved defensive end in the spring.
