Everett Dawkins, a 6'3" 230 lb. defensive end from Byrnes High School in Duncan,South Carolina has made his verbal commitment to the Noles this past weekend. Dawkins has already received offers from such schools as Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee,Virginia Tech, Illinois, and FSU.
He is described as a gap control defensive tackle with excellent lower body force and explosion off the ball. Loves his gaps and rarely has to go across the face of an offensive lineman. Plays in a unique system where he moves around often at the snap which causes confusion and helps his ability to get into the backfield where he is quick to react to plays. Biggest question for him will be size and where he plays.
Dawkins was recruited by FSU defensive ends coach Jody Allen who was in attendance for the big Byrnes playoff matchup against Dorman this past Friday night.He has 140 tackles with 11 sacks, 27 tackles for loss and 47 quarterback hurries.
