On paper, the Emerald Bowl game looks like a lopsided win for the Bruins. Not only do they have momentum and home field advantage going for them, they have the edge in almost every category. However, at this time of year, miracles do happen.
The Noles will start Drew Weatherford at quarterback in what continues to be a mystery that only Bobby Bowden seems to know. They have only one tested running back in Lorenzo Booker since Antone Smith is out with an injury. Then there is the offensive line that has not done well this year and will be tested by a pair of All American defensive ends. The receivers have dropped numerous passes this year and have been hampered by the play calling of Jeff Bowden.
It would seem as is the case in so many instances that Mickey Andrews and his defense will be called on to keep the Bruins in check and perhaps pull out a win for the Noles. If not, this will be the first losing season for the Noles in thirty years.
Maybe the coaches should have the players watch "It's A Wonderful Life", "Miracle on 34th Street", and "Rudy". It couldn't hurt and just maybe a miracle can happen on Wednesday.
