D'Vontrey Richardson, the talented quarterback from Leesburg, Ga., has spent his first season at FSU learning from Xavier Lee and Drew Weatherford. He's also been getting in some work in the batting cages at Dick Howser Stadium with a former high-school teammate, FSU catcher Buster Posey. Richardson, who is taking a redshirt this season, said he'll be looked at either in right field or center field. He'll join the baseball team on Jan. 8 for preseason practice.
Dave Hart commented on the 2007 FSU football schedule by stating "we have a very, very tough schedule next year - probably the toughest schedule we've played. But we also have a freshman and sophomore class that is loaded with talent. We have some soft spots if you will that the coaching staff and Bobby have identified and that we'll try to shore up.” All the more reason for FSU to make sure that it makes the necessary coaching changes.
Bobby Bowden is being coy regarding who will be the starting QB for the Emerald Bowl game. Not sure what his rationale is but this is just the latest of strange Bowden quirks. “I don't know when I'll announce it,” Bowden said. “It's just not that big a deal. I don't know why anybody cares.” By the way, some of us do care coach.
