My View: Bobby Bowden Shows His True Colors

Tonight there were more firsts for this sinking FSU program. Wake Forest beat the Noles for the first time since FSU joined the ACC conference. Bobby Bowden had his first shutout in Tallahassee. FSU ends its ACC season with a losing record for the first time.

With all of that, the worst and most revealing part of tonight was the arrogant and "in your face" taped interview by Bobby Bowden prior to the game. Asked about hiring his son as offensive coordinator and the nepotism issue, Bowden said the following,"If I had it to do over again, I would do it again." What this reveals are the true colors of Bobby Bowden. Never mind the sinking program and the awful coaching. Bobby Bowden is more concerned about being arrogant and stubborn. He is more concerned about showing disgruntled fans and others that he will do as he damn well pleases. It doesn't matter if he is wrong. And make no mistake about it. He is wrong.

There are two men that are driving this program into the ground. One is FSU President T.K. Wetherell who continues to defend Bobby Bowden and his tenure. The other, Bobby Bowden, shows an arrogance and unwillingness to make significant changes. It will be interesting to hear the Bowden sycophants and apologists as they continue to defend the indefensible.
