BC Kicker Suspended for Bowl Game

Clemson defensive back Duane Coleman has been suspended for the December 29th Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl vs. Kentucky, Head Coach Tommy Bowden announced on Friday. Coleman was arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana on Wednesday.

The Maryland football team finished out its 2006 home practice schedule as the Terrapins close in on their appearance in the Champs Sports Bowl on Dec. 29 in Orlando, Fla.

The team held its final practice in College Park and will continue preparations for Purdue over the next week in Orlando.

Boston College suspended kicker Ryan Ohliger for the Eagles' bowl game against Navy, the second time this season the junior has been suspended. "He's not traveling with us and he's not participating in this game for a violation of team rules," interim coach Frank Spaziani said Thursday without specifying what rule was broken. Ohliger was suspended Oct. 6 by former coach Tom O'Brien after an off-campus fight outside a bar. Ohliger said it was self defense.
