    Clemson Folds And Loses To BC


    Tommy Bowden and Clemson did what they do best. They folded like a cheap lawn chair. Playing at home, the Tigers led Boston College 10-3 in the third quarter until BC scored a touchdown early in the fourth to tie the game. Clemson with a little over five minutes left in the game led by 17-13 until Matt Ryan with under two minutes left in the game threw a 48 yard TD to go ahead of Clemson for the final score of 20-17. The Tigers attempted a field goal with 5 seconds left in the game but it was short. Boston College is now the Atlantic Division champion and will face either Virginia Tech or Virginia on Dec. 1 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. And Tommy Boy again snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

    Stat Of The Game: Matt Ryan threw for 315 yards and 1 TD.

    Riley Skinner threw two touchdown passes, including a momentum-shifting 62-yarder to Jordan Williams that led Wake Forest past North Carolina State 38-18 on Saturday night. Linebacker Aaron Curry returned a late interception 57 yards for a touchdown and the Demon Deacons' NCAA-best eighth defensive score. The Demon Deacons (7-4, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) forced four turnovers and improved their bowl situation significantly by snapping N.C. State's four-game winning streak and halting their own two-game slide.

    Crew cut Charlie and The Fighting Irish avoided becoming the first Notre Dame team in 74 years to go a season winless at home, beating Duke 28-7 on Saturday behind three touchdown passes by Jimmy Clausen.

    Stat Of The Game: Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen had 3 TDs in the game.

    Travis Bell atoned for an earlier miss by kicking a 27-yard field goal with 15 seconds left as Georgia Tech overcame four lost fumbles to beat North Carolina 27-25 on Saturday. The Tar Heels had taken advantage of quarterback Taylor Bennett's second fumble to go ahead 25-24 with 5:50 remaining. Bell missed a 33-yard attempt with 2:31 to go, but the Yellow Jackets stopped North Carolina on three plays and got the ball back at their 50 after a 29-yard punt by Terrence Brown.

    Stat Of The Game: Georgia Tech rushed for 178 yards rushing to North Carolina's 70 rush yards.

    Branden Ore ran for two touchdowns, both times plowing over a Miami defender to get to the end zone, and No. 10 Virginia Tech beat Miami 44-14 on Saturday in the Hokies' final tuneup for a huge game with rival Virginia next weekend. Virginia Tech (9-2, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) moved into a share of first place in the Coastal Division with Virginia. The teams will play on Saturday in Charlottesville with the winner moving on to the conference championship game Dec.1.

    Stat Of The Game: Miami had 3 turnovers to 0 for the Hokies.
