If you are the coach of the Duke Blue Devil's football team, you better have a thick skin and a solid ego. Those are necessary requirements for a head coach at Duke because of the fact that the Blue Devils do not win many games. Ted Roof is the relatively new head football coach at Duke University. Prior to his promotion to head coach on December 6, 2003, Roof had been a defensive coordinator at Duke and Georgia Tech, where he had been an All-American linebacker. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Alabama, from 1987-1988. In 2000, he was nominated for the Frank Broyles Award, given to the nation's top assistant coach.
Duke is 1-6 going into Saturday's game with the Noles and Roof's cumulative record at Duke is 6-40. Some are saying that Roof may be history unless he pulls off an upset in his last five games of the 2007 season.
