On Thursday, despite a 47-minute lightning delay, Georgia Tech completed the second day of fall camp this afternoon at Rose Bowl Fields in helmets and shorts.
There is a good chance that the Jackets will not play a game in worse conditions than what they endured for the first 15 minutes of practice this afternoon as a torrential rain storm hit just as they took the field.
Georgia Tech went through two solid hours of team and 7-on-7 drills Friday afternoon, the Yellow Jackets' third practice of 2008 at Rose Bowl Field.
Tech donned shoulder pads for the first time this preseason but will not put on full gear until Sunday. And, until the Jackets endure a few full-pads practices, don't expect head coach Paul Johnson to point out anyone emerging as candidates to start.
The 23rd-ranked Wake Forest football team completed its first day of preseason practice on Friday at the Doc Martin Football Practice Complex on the Wake Forest campus. The Demon Deacon coaches greeted 103 players who were issued equipment in the morning and held offensive and defensive team meetings throughout the afternoon.
Among those happy to be back on the field is redshirt senior fullback Rich Belton who missed most of last season after suffering a torn ACL against Nebraska in the second game of the year.
