Godby's British Footman is the fourth senior from the Big Bend area to orally commit to the Seminoles.
“He's an outstanding athlete,” head football coach Shelton Crews said. “He can play about anywhere on offense or defense. If they need a defensive back, he can be a defensive back. He can be a running back or wide receiver and he's a returner. About anywhere but offensive line or defensive line.”
Footman is the Nole's twelfth commitment for the 2008 class after Altoona, Pa., wide receiver A.J. Alexander de-committed last week. Verbal commitments are not binding.
On Saturday Bobby Bowden will be formally enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be held in South Bend, Ind., the home of the Hall of Fame.
