    FSU Gives PT The Axe

Former Florida State quarterback Peter Tom Willis will no longer be the color analyst for the radio broadcasts of FSU football games carried on the Seminole Sports Radio Network. Willis had been the analyst with Gene Deckerhoff for nine seasons.

FSU confirmed Thursday that ISP and FSU athletics will not renew Willis' contract. The statement did not provide a reason.

It is common knowledge that FSU officials and coaches including head coach Bobby Bowden were not pleased with his candid evaluations of the football team.

In 2006, Willis called FSU's offense a "high-school offense" following the FSU-Clemson game in 2006.

For fans like myself, Willis will be missed. It is apparent that there are those at FSU that want to paint a rosy picture and therefore anyone that is candid and honest will be removed. Look for FSU to replace Willis with a cheerleader type analyst.
