Senior Shannon Boatman has moved from offensive tackle to guard on Friday in what is FSU's last practice before working in full pads. Boatman also saw playing time at right tackle. “We're trying to get the best guys on the field,” Fisher said. “He's a big guy inside that has power and is flexible. He can do some things in there. We're trying to put everybody in the best position possible.”
Sophomore tailback Russell Ball, who is trying to come back from his second reconstructive knee surgery, was the offensive star of the day. He made several great moves in the open field and broke two long runs.
FSU received its 16th verbal commitment for the 2008 class on Friday when Gainesville (Ga.) defensive end Keith Wells committed to the Seminoles. “They showed a genuine interest,” Wells said at a press conference broadcast on warchant.com. “I have been to a lot of places, a lot of colleges, throughout the spring and the summer, and the feeling I got at Florida State I didn’t get anywhere else.” Wells is ranked the fifth-best weakside DE in the nation according to rivals.com.
