The last time FSU played Alabama was in 1974 when the Noles went to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to play the Crimson Tide. The Noles were coached by Darrell Mudra who went 1-10 that year. The Seminoles were led by an outstanding running back,Larry Key,who ran for 123 yards and a TD in the game. FSU field goal kicker Ahmet Askin had a field goal blocked and missed three others.Alabama had two field goals and a safety to beat FSU 8-7 in front of a home crowd of 58,394.
