One paper in Pennsylvania and one in West Virginia are reporting that Jimbo Fisher is now the top candidate to be the new head coach at West Virginia.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette citing unnamed sources says with a push from West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, West Virginia made a push for Fisher "... and garnered the donor support necessary for both a longterm deal and Fisher's personal buyout cost. "
According to the paper, if their discussions reach an agreeable end today, he is expected to be introduced as their new coach as soon as tomorrow. Also interesting is that their "fall back" coach is said to be Terry Bowden if the negotiations with Fisher falls through.
