FSU Sports Information Excerpts:
With Music City Bowl CEO Scott Ramsey in town to officially invite the Seminoles to his bowl game, the football team worked out twice on Monday in preparation for its showdown with the Kentucky Wildcats (7-5, 4-4). Florida State practiced at 9:45 this morning in full pads and then went back out on the field in uppers at 3:30 this afternoon. This is the first of two, two-a-day practices this week. The team will break following Saturday's morning practice.
In pass rush Everette Brown had a good day winning three battles, Budd Thacker won a couple as did Emmanuel Dunbar. Alex Boston and Neefy Moffett both got to the QB as well. For the offense David Overmyer, Daron Rose, Jacky Claude, Ryan McMahon and Will Furlong all held their men at bay.
In 2-on-2 Christian Ponder connected with Bert Reed twice. Reed also caught a pass from Xavier Lee as did Rod Owens. Drew Weatherford hit Preston Parker twice, one was a highlight reel one-handed grab. Weatherford also found Greg Carr, Reed and Owens. Myron Rolle had a pass break-up.
In one-minute offense Weatherford hit Antone Smith on a big gainer and he also found Owens. For the defense Anthony Houllis had a tackle for lose and a sack. Michael Ray Garvin broke up a pass as did Jamie Robinson.
