Move over Bobby Petrino and Nick Saban. Rich Rodriquez wants to be a member of your club. Michigan announced this morning that West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriquez was their new head coach. He is the latest in the line of coaches who believe that contracts and a man's word mean nothing. Rodriquez leaves after only a year in which he received an unprecedented contract underwritten by influential boosters. He also was guaranteed vast improvements for facilities and increased pay for his assistant coaches.
Now we have reports saying that Jimbo Fisher has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the West Virginia job. It will be interesting to see if these reports have any validity given last week's press conference designating Fisher as coach in waiting. Call me jaded but I am not surprised at anything that happens in regard to college coaches.
