    FSU 2005 Award Winners- Part 6


    Leadership Award (Offense) - David Castillo

    Senior Year (2005): Veteran who the coaches counted on to make the proper calls at the line of scrimmage...a three-year starter at center...known for his leadership skills on and off of the football field...played in 11 games, starting all of them...missed the Citadel and Boston College games due to a foot injury which required surgery but returned in time for the Syracuse game...was named a 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic second team All-American...one of just two players from the ACC to be honored...a 2005 National Football Foundation $18,000 postgraduate scholarship winner as a finalist for the Draddy Trophy billed as the "Academic Heisman"...earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science and is currently working on a second degree in dietetics...while working on his second degree and playing football, he took the MCAT exam and plans to enter medical school in the fall of 2006...the second Florida State football player in the last 20 years (also David Palmer in 1987) to follow a pre-med curriculum.
