    New Recruit To Get Playing Time In Spring


    One of the Seminoles top recruits will unexpectedly get a good deal of time in spring ball. And it’s not Myron Rolle, the No. 1 recruit in the country according to ESPN.com. Or really any of the other top 100 recruits who were able to enroll early.

    Christian Ponder, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback from Colleyville, Texas, will start the spring backing up starter Drew Weatherford.

    Weatherford goes into the spring as the starter, where he was most of last season. “He’s had a great offseason program,” Bowden said.

    However, there won’t be any battle with Xavier Lee, at least not in the spring.“Xavier Lee, No. 2, is going to miss spring training because of a shoulder operation,” Bowden said. “He’s going to get way behind
