In what could be characterized as the Bobby Bowden appeal, FSU president T.K. Wetherell earlier today formally announced that FSU will appeal the NCAA ruling that vacates wins by FSU and most notably the 14 wins by FSU football.
Given the past history of appeals to the NCAA, FSU has probably a slim to none chance of winning. Some may question the use of scarce university resources in pursuing this in light of cuts at the university level. FSU has hired a law firm who employs a former administrative law judge to handle the case.
