In what has been advocated on this site,Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden announced Thursday that defensive ends coach Jody Allen will add the title of Special Teams Coordinator when spring practice begins on March 16.
"Jody has done an excellent job over the years with our punt block team and has been instrumental in the success of many of our special teams," said Bowden. "He has been interested in all our kicking game and it is a good fit to put him in a position to oversee all the special teams. Each of our coaches will still be involved in coaching on different units, but Jody will be coordinating them all."
Allen completed his seventh season on the FSU staff in 2006 where he has served as defensive ends coach for the last five years. He was a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs at Florida State during the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
