Bobby Bowden Adds Another New Position and Hire

Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden announced Monday that Bob LaCivita has accepted the position of Director of Player Personnel in the football office after having served in similar capacities at Florida and NC State over the past seven years.

LaCivita, who held the title of director of football operations at Florida for the last two years and at NC State from 2000-2005, will oversee all administrative duties relating to recruiting with Seminole football as well as assisting with other administrative activities on a day-to-day basis in the FSU football office.

"I'm pleased that we are adding this position to our football office," said Bowden. "Bob has worked with Chuck (Amato) and Andy Urbanic (FSU Associate Athletic Director for Football Operations) in the past and comes highly recommended. The administration of the entire recruiting process has become so involved and we were actually behind most of the programs in terms of having someone in this position."

LaCivita, who holds a doctorate of philosophy from Pittsburgh, has overseen the overall coordination of recruiting as well as assisting with other administrative duties for the Florida football program since February 2005. Prior to his stint with UF, he served in the same capacity at NC State from July 2000 until February 2005. He has worked with three other Division 1-A football programs in the past 26 years, including Akron, Auburn and Pittsburgh. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971 with a B.A. in psychology. In 1977, he earned a Master's of Public Health from Pittsburgh and in 1984, he received his doctorate.
