    Bowden Doublespeak

After Monday's practice, Bobby Bowden announced that Xavier Lee would be the starting QB against Wake. He added the following comments,"We are going to take it a little bit slower with (Weatherford) to be sure that he's completely healthy. It (Weatherford's ankle) seems to be okay."

What? If memory serves correct, Weatherford played for the last 12 minutes of the fourth quarter against Virgina. There was nothing wrong with his foot or he wouldn't have been in the game. Why the sensitivity? Bowden has had no problem telling everyone in the past that Lee was not starting because he looked awful in practice. Why can't he just say Lee is starting because he gives FSU an added dimension with his running ability and he has played well in the last two games?
