NFL Hall of Fame receiver and Florida State legend Fred Biletnikoff retired as the Oakland Raiders' wide-receivers coach.
Biletnikoff played at FSU from 1962-64 and was the Seminoles' first consensus All-American. His senior season he caught four touchdown passes in FSU's 36-19 victory over Oklahoma in the Gator Bowl.
Biletnikoff, 63, played for the Raiders for 14 years and was the MVP of Super Bowl XI. He has spent the past 18 season on the Raiders' coaching staff, the last 10 as receivers coach.
Former FSU great and Tampa Bay Bucs linebacker Derrick Brooks made his 10th straight Pro Bowl appearnace in Hawaii on Saturday.
Former Nole Ernie Sims has been named to the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers Association NFL All-Rookie team and is also a member of Peter King's all-rookie team.
Sims finished the season fifth in the NFC in tackles ahead of players like Lofa Tatupu, Jeremiah Trotter, Derrick Brooks and fellow rookie A.J. Hawk to name just a few.
