    QUOTES

    Head Coach Bobby Bowden

    on today's practice

"We had a pretty good practice. Aaron Jones looked like he hurt his ankle again. Another defensive tackle. Seems to be the way it's going."

    on injured players

"(Letroy) Guion has a chance to get back. I'm not sure about the other guys right now. (Alex) Boston has worked every day this week. Hope he can stay healthy. He looks okay. He's probably not in shape like you'd like for him to be but we need him, we need him. We're working him at end and tackle and between those two positions, he has a chance to start. Whether he will or not, I don't know."

on players cross-training at tackle and end

"Just Alex, he's the only one working at tackle and end. We've got some working at linebacker and end such as Dekoda Watson, the freshman. We held Buster and Timmons out today. They were there, but they didn't get any activity."

on Marcus Ball's play the first couple of games

"He's just played real good. He's played winning football and I hope he keeps it up. Normally, it doesn't happen that a guy comes in and plays that well the first two games but it has happened in his case and let's hope it lasts."

On whether Clemson will throw any trick plays in the game

"Tommy usually has a couple tricks for us. In the time we've been playing him, I know of two fake punts he's ran and both of them were successful. Then he ran a fake field goal out here one night. Yeah, he's capable of doing that. We prepare for everything we think they might do. You can't prepare for everything you can think of, you don't have enough time."

    Tailback Lorenzo Booker

on the running game last week

"Everybody made their fair share of mistakes. It was a short turnaround, but there's no excuse. The game could have gone a lot smoother had everyone on the team not turned the ball over. We just have to stay focused and come together."

    on getting the ball

"The most important thing is we're 2 and 0. You go in and if the passing game is working, you do it. If the running game is working, let's keep doing it. I'm more focused now than ever."

    J.R. Bryant

on his phone call from Pittsburgh Steeler Bryant McFadden

"He said to just keep your head up. When you are at practice, practice every play like it was your last. You never know when they are coming at you. Same thing in the game. You can't take any plays off. I have practiced hard and worked hard."

    on the Clemson game

"This game is not about revenge. We are just going out to play. We want to win every game we play. Revenge...that's where you mess up, if you look at it as a revenge thing. They are in our division of the ACC. We have to win this game. We can't lose."

    Alex Boston

on the defensive line injuries and his role

"You can't help it (injuries). That is just part of playing football. Right now my mind is focused on getting the young guys and pushing them towards trying to get better, just in case if we need them. I am pushing myself to really get better for wherever they need me. Just work hard."

on what he has seen on Clemson

"I have seen a good little bit. I haven't watched the full game on them yet. I just see some tendencies and things like that. From what I see right now, they are a pretty good offensive line. Probably one of the best we will face again."

    on last year's Clemson game

"Last year they had a really good scheme offensively for us. They gave us some misdirection type stuff. Hopefully this year we can kind of settle in and make some big plays from the d-line standpoint."
