    Wednesday Practice Report

    • Florida State worked out on Wednesday in shells (shoulder pads, shorts and helmets) in preparation for Saturday's 7:45 p.m. kickoff against Clemson on ESPN.

    • Lightening shortened practice to 10 periods outside and was resumed with walk throughs in the turf room.

    • FSU will practice one more time on Thursday before Saturday's contest.

    • The Bobby Bowden Call-In Show airs Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. on the Seminole Radio Network and can be seen locally WTWC NBC 40 (Channel 12).

    QUOTES

    Head Coach Bobby Bowden

(On practice being interrupted by weather):

"We got a half of a practice in. We definitely needed to get it all in, but we couldn't because of lightning. If it had just rained we would have gone ahead and practiced. The offense and defense split their time in the workout room, but the bad thing is you can't punt, you can't pass. So I hope it's pretty tomorrow because we have to get it in. Today throws us behind."

    (What got was accomplished today):

"We got into some defensive plays. It's like having a full practice planned and only getting half of it done. When you go inside you won't be able to get the other half, but you may be able to get about twenty-five percent of it. Maybe there'll be some way we can make it up tomorrow."

(On making adjustments to the defense following Paul Griffin's injury) "With Paul out, we are working Boston in there at tackle, worked our two freshmen tackles in there. Of course we have Fluellen back and Stuart in there, both working as number one."

(On tomorrow's practice): "Thursday is usually a day where we just go over assignments and everything, we don't even wear pads. But we may have to add a few drills in there to make up for what we missed today."

    Offensive Tackle Mario Henderson:

(On playing against Clemson defensive end Gaines Adams): "They played FAU and he didn't play a lot in that game, then they played Boston College and that's the only film I have on him. And he really doesn't have a lot of film on me, so it's like we really don't know each other. So I'm really looking forward to the opportunity."

(On establishing himself): "I really want to work hard. I just want to show the coaches that I'm good and I believe that I do work hard so now I can show people that I can play."

(On Clemson's defensive line): "This might be one of the most physical lines they've had. Coach McHale was saying their defensive line is good and it's basically the same guys from last year. It's going to be a great game."
