Alabama receiver Keith Brown and linebacker Prince Hall have been suspended for the season opener against Western Carolina for unspecified violations of team rules, coach Nick Saban said Monday. Saban said both 2006 starters had been working in backup roles throughout fall camp in the Crimson Tide's practices, which are closed to the media.

On Saturday, when UAB opens the 2007 season at Michigan State, UAB will be without Will Dunbar. Dunbar, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior playmaker in the secondary, is suspended for the Michigan State game. UAB head coach Neil Callaway announced the suspension during his weekly media luncheon on Monday. Callaway didn't elaborate why he's suspending one of his star players.
