    Noles Continue Preparations For Duke

    FSU Sports Information Excerpts:

The Seminole football team continued to prep for Duke Wednesday afternoon with a 20 period practice. FSU worked out in shells and spent most of the day going against the scout team.

After working on special teams, the Seminoles broke up into position groups.Following individuals, the offense and defense came together as units to work versus scout teams.

Pass rush and skel came midway through practice on Wednesday. In pass rush Letroy Guion had a monster day as he was virtually unblockable winning five individual battles. Budd Thacker had a couple wins and Alex Boston, Kendrick Stewart, Paul Griffin and Justin Mincey also got to the QB. On the other side Jacky Claude held his pass rusher in check a couple times while Ryan McMahon, David Overmyer, Brandon Davis, Shannon Boatman and Daron Rose also picked up wins.

Skel started off in down and distance. Xavier Lee completed a couple passes to Bert Reed and one to Rod Owens. Drew Weatherford connected with Richard Goodman. Defensively Tony Carter broke up a pass.

After one period of skel in down and distance, they moved down to run skel at the goal line. Weatherford had two TD passes to Goodman and one to De'Cody Fagg. Lee hit Joslin Shaw in the end zone. Korey Mangum recorded the lone pass break-up.

Practice ended with 11-on-11 and 2:00 offense. The defense got the better of the drill. Boston and Everette Brown recorded sacks and Toddrick Verdell picked off a pass. The period did end with a Weatherford to Goodman TD.

    Injury update

"Greg Carr will get the cast taken off his wrist - it was a sprained wrist. We'll tape it up Saturday and hopefully it'll be ok. Emmanuel (Dunbar) is ok but he hit his head in practice on Monday and he got a slight concussion; he might be questionable. Budd Thacker is ok, his ankle is getting better. Andre Fluellen is in a tough situation with a hurt hand. We use our hands so much and he can't use his right one. I'm not sure what that means. He may be able to play on Saturday."
