FSU today released its recommendation for reductions of grants-in-aid in response to the NCAA’s notice of allegations regarding the academic miscnduct scandal.
In addition to placing the institution’s program on probation for two years dating to February, the following reductions of scholarships have been imposed:
Football-5 -- two during the 2008-09 academic year and three during the 2009-10 academic year.
It should be understood that the NCAA has the right to agree with FSU's actions or come up with its own sanctions.
FSU will appear before the NCAA committee on infractions on Oct. 18. It will be interesting to see whether these self-imposed sanctions by FSU will turn out to be the right approach.
