The Canes had some players that left the game early in their loss to North Carolina on Saturday. Starting right tackle Reggie Youngblood left the game with what appeared to be an injury to his left foot in the first half and was later seen on the sideline in street clothes. Reserve running back Damien Berry left in the first quarter and sat on the bench in the second half. Receiver Thearon Collier got the wind knocked out of him in the first half, and then left the field on a cart in the third quarter. Head coach Randy Shannon said he's "doing fine."
UM had to play the game on Saturday on a dirt infield because the Marlin baseball team plays at the stadium. The Marlins were eliminated from playoff contention Tuesday but there wasn't enough time to add grass. However, when the Noles play the Hurricanes at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, a full grass playing surface is supposed to be in place.
