Sean Glennon threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns in relief of injured Tyrod Taylor and No. 12 Virginia Tech's defense shut down Duke yet again in a 43-14 win Saturday. Eddie Royal and Branden Ore also scored touchdowns for the Hokies (6-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) during a 21-point second quarter, which gave them a 34-7 lead at the break en route to their seventh straight win in the series.

Tashard Choice ran for a career-high 204 yards on 37 carries, quarterback Taylor Bennett rushed for two touchdowns and Georgia Tech controlled the second half to beat Miami 17-14 on Saturday. Travis Bell's 39-yard field goal with 7:34 left was the eventual game-winner for Georgia Tech (4-3, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), which became the fourth team since 1978 to beat Miami in three consecutive seasons, joining Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Florida State.

Chris Gould kicked a 19-yard field goal with 3:20 to play Saturday and mistake-prone Virginia won its sixth consecutive game and knocked Connecticut from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 17-16 victory. The Cavaliers (6-1) trailed 16-14 and had struggled on offense all day before driving 79 yards to Gould's second game-winner in as many weeks. Last Saturday, his 34-yarder with 8 seconds left gave Virginia a 23-21 victory at Middle Tennessee.

Chris Smelley threw a career-high three touchdown passes in the first half and No. 7 South Carolina withstood a late rally to beat North Carolina 21-15 on Saturday. The redshirt freshman improved to 4-0 as a starter, helping South Carolina (6-1) build a 21-3 lead through three quarters and successfully defend its first top 10 ranking since 2001. But the Tar Heels (2-5) made things interesting late. T.J. Yates threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Greg Little on the first play of the fourth quarter, then ran 3 yards for another score to make it a six-point game with 3:03 remaining.
