Miami Injuries...Javarris James Playing "Well"...Frustration Regarding Penalties

Miami head coach Randy Shannon indicated junior DT Dwayne Hendricks (right leg)"is probably going to be out for a while." He said senior WR Lance Leggett will be "out for a little bit longer" but that sophomore LB Colin McCarthy (concussion) should be ready for FSU game.

Randy Shannon is not counting out running back Javarris James. "He's playing well," Shannon said. "Right now he's doing some good things for us, in doing pass protection, routes. The run game things he's hitting aren't there for him." Last week, James carried six times for minus-6 yards. Most of that loss came on a messed-up exchange between he and junior QB Kirby Freeman.

Randy Shannon seems to be also getting frustrated with ACC officiating. However, he stopped short in openly criticizing them. "For some reason we've been getting a lot of penalties in key situations that's stopping us," Shannon said. "I'll never badmouth the officials. They have to make calls the way they see fit. I may disagree with what they call, but that's their job, the way they see it.
