    Noles Begin Preparations For Terrapins

    FSU Sports Information Excerpts:

The FSU football team is as banged up as it has been at any time this year. Eight players appeared on the injury report Sunday following the loss to Virginia Tech. Included in that group are all three of Florida State's scholarship running backs. Despite the bumps and bruises, the Seminoles returned to the practice fields Monday night. The team worked out in shorts and helmets for 10 periods on the band field in preparation for Saturday's showdown with the Maryland Terrapins (5-5, 2-4). The game will be broadcast by Lincoln Financial Sports and Raycom.

    Head Coach Bobby Bowden
On the health of the team:
"A lot of guys are banged up. As the week goes by we should get better and better."

    On Antone Smith's health:
"Antone said he thought he'd be ready to go when I talked to him tonight."
