Verdell Out...Rose Expected To Play...Smith Has Deep Bruise

Junior linebacker Toddrick Verdell is likely out for the season with a broken foot. Verdell was injured on special teams during the loss to Virginia Tech last Saturday. It was not all bad news however for the linebacking unit. Bobby Bowden confirmed that sophomore Marcus Ball will return this week from a one-game suspension. Ball splits time at strong-side linebacker and is a key contributor in pass coverage.

Florida State sophomore left tackle Daron Rose is expected to play on Saturday although he is not moving like someone that will play. Offensive line coach Rick Trickett plans to have quarterback Drew Weatherford's blind-side protector back after Rose missed last Saturday's Virginia Tech game with a left knee cartilage injury. Though still moving gingerly, Rose practiced Monday and Tuesday.
