Missed Tackles Declining...Overmyer Sprain...Amato Has No Grudges

After a lot of missed tackles in the Clemson game, FSU's defense has been working on reducing drastically the number of missed tackles. In the Clemson game, the defense had 31 missed tackles, FSU made 15 against UAB and then nine at Colorado. Against Alabama, the Seminoles cut that number to eight missed tackles.

An MRI test confirmed that starting right tackle David Overmyer sprained his knee against Alabama. FSU coach Bobby Bowden said he is not expected to play against North Carolina State. Bowden said that Overmyer may be available for next week's game at Wake Forest.

Chuck Amato says that he holds no grudges against the school that fired him and FSU's opponent this week, NC State. Amato was asked if he believed he had received enough credit for the good things he accomplished at NCSU, including the improvements to Carter-Finley Stadium. "A hundred million dollars, something nobody else could do," he said. "I know. And 98 percent of the people up there know."
