Scouting The Offense: With Daniel Evans at the helm, State will likely lean on its running game against Florida State. It may also run more slants to get its speedy wideouts the ball in space, trying to turn short passes into long gains.
Scouting The Defense: State's defensive line is slowly getting healthier, a key factor heading into the meeting with the Seminoles. If the Wolfpack can control the line of scrimmage and keep FSU in third-and-long reasonably often, it could keep the game close enough to take charge in the fourth quarter.
DT DeMario Pressley is still recovering from an injured ankle that sidelined him for a pair of games, but he started against Louisville and finished with three tackles and two quarterback hurries. He'll be counted on to hold his own against the FSU offensive line and disrupt the Seminoles offense.
RB Andre Brown has been running well in recent weeks, but after fumbling twice against Louisville, he can expect to get multiple swipes at the football by the Florida State defenders every time he touches it.
Players To Watch: QB Daniel Evans- It's yet another second chance for Evans to prove he can handle the starting job. He's had success against Florida State in the past, but he'll need to make some positive plays in addition to avoiding the negative ones for the team to have a chance at the upset.
Injuries- NC State: QB Harrison Beck (AC separation)-out; OT Jeraill McCuller (knee)-out; FB Pat Bedics (knee)-doubtful; DT Jamaine Clemmons (ankle)-questionable; TE Marcus Stone (ankle)-questionable; DT John Bedics (ankle)-probable; LS Corey Tedder (broken hand) –out for season; RB Toney Baker (knee)--out for season; TE Anthony Hill (knee)-out for season; FB John Kane (concussion)-out for season; TE Rashad Phillips (rehab from auto accident)-out for season.
