Terps Get ACC Honors...Maryland Defeats Two Top 10 Teams In 2007

Maryland quarterback Chris Turner was named ACC Offensive Back of the Week after throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns in the Terps' 42-35 win against then-No. 8 Boston College.Turner completed 21 of 27 passes in just his fifth career start. In addition to Turner, Terps Scott Burley was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after he helped Maryland finish with 472 total yards. Burley, a left tackle, played three quarters before his ankle injury became too severe.

The Maryland Terrapins have had a year of unbelievable injuries. It is remarkable that they only have one less win than the Noles with their history of injuries this year. Maryland has faced three top 10 teams this season and has gone 2-1 in those contests.

This is the first time in school history the Terps have defeated two top-10 teams in the same season. They lost to No. 4 West Virginia, 31-14, on Sept. 13, downed No. 10 Rutgers, 34-24, on Sept. 29, and defeated No. 8 Boston College this past Saturday.
