Don't be shocked if you don't see Number 7 Buster Davis in the game on Saturday. That's because Buster will be wearing Number 50 for his last home game as a Seminole. He will be wearing the number of FSU great Ron Simmons who had his number retired in 1988. He was coincidentally my last player featured in the "FSU Retro Look Back" feature.
Simmons agreed to let Buster wear the number for his last game.Simmons was Florida State's first two-time consensus All-American and a former player Davis greatly admires. The 'Noles' leading tackler couldn't be happier that he will have the opportunity to wear No. 50 on Senior Day in Doak Campbell Stadium. Davis is currently 4 tackles shy of reaching the 100 mark.
