Wednesday Practice Report: Getting Ready for Florida

* Florida State practiced for 20 periods in helmets and shoulder pads Wednesday in preparation for their game against Florida on Saturday.

* Highlights for the offense in 11-on-11 included:

* Drew Weatherford completed a 25 yard touchdown pass to Chris Davis and also completed passes of 32 yards to Lorenzo Booker and 8 yards to Greg Carr.

* Highlights for the defense in 11-on-11 included:

* Michael Ray Garvin and Roosevelt Lawson each recorded a pass break up.

* Lawrence Timmons recorded a sack while Everette Brown had a total for loss.

"I think so. They look like a team, that they don't have a weakness. They look as sound as you can get."

(On what will determine the game against Florida)

"It will get down to execution and who is turning the ball over and things like that usually decide a game like that. Both of us have defenses playing good and both of us have question marks, well I don't know about them, but we are not quite as strong on the offensive line and upfront is so important. I image who ever wins that game up there will have a big thing to say about it although there is a lot of skill running around out there that can catch it and make a touchdown."

(Is Alex Boston starting at end a sign that Letroy Guion is playing pretty well?)

"Well Guion has come along; there is no doubt about it. He has played better the last two games than before. It allows you to move Boston to DE. Where you need him (Boston) the most is probably where he is going to play."

(On his final regular season game)

"You get a chance to go out with a bang and that is a win. It has been a good four years that I have been here and I just want to help the team finish out as best they can and help keep their minds and heads in the game."

(On his final regular season game being against Florida)

"That is what makes going out sweeter. It is a great way how they have the schedule set up, we got Florida last and you can't beat that, you know, especially for the seniors going out. It is like saving money in a piggy bank. You put your money in and put your money in, then come towards the end of the year and you are ready to crack the bank open and that is pretty much how it is against Florida. It is a game that always excites you and it allows you to go all out."

"Oh definitely, it is going to be a great game, it is the Florida game. We are under estimated of course and they have a lot to lose and we have a lot to prove. So it is going to be a good challenge for us and I think it is going to be a great game."
