Thursday Practice Report: Final Prep for Florida

Florida State practiced 15 periods Thursday in sweats as the team continued its preparations for Florida.

After working on special teams, both units got in some work versus the scout teams.
The offense and defense worked on red zone.

Defensively Lawrence Timmons and Jr. R. Bryant had pass break-ups. Jamie Robinson and Roosevelt Lawson each had picks along with Patrick Robinson who had two.

In passing drills Drew Weatherford had a deep connection with Chris Davis and also connected with Robert Hallback.

The only injury updates are as follows: Antone Smith (OUT - Elbow) and Joe Surratt (IN - Expected to play versus UF)

    QUOTES

    Coach Bowden Quotes

"We have done all we can do now it is just a matter of going out there and executing. Florida is an outstanding football team and I just hope we can play our best."

On whether the team hit less in practice this week due to injuries

"We practiced normally like we always practice. We didn't try to pull anything off at all."

On how much a win over Florida would mean to this team

"Any win will be great but we have to go make it happen."

On whether Jeff Bowden will coach through the bowl

"Well I have to get that cleared out. I want him to. At first (Jeff) felt like it would be best to just end it but I really need him so we can stay with what we are doing."

On if he is cooking Thanksgiving dinner today

"I'm eating. I am eating cooking. I am not sure who all is going to be (at his house for Thanksgiving)."

    Defensive Tackle Andre Fluellen

On the progression of Letroy Guion

"Letroy has come on tremendously. He is taken heed of the coaching more. He has been looking at his technique and it has just been helping him. The main thing with him is he is using his hands. He is so much more athletic than a lot of other people on the field. Once he gets everything down, his technique. He is going to be a future star. He is going to be the next first rounder I believe."

On stopping Florida's seniors from winning two games in their careers at Doak Campbell Stadium

"The biggest thing for us is we don't want to lose to anybody at Doak especially Florida, a big rival. It is not really about trying to disappoint the seniors for Florida. We don't want them to have some kind of streak or record. We just want to win the game. Especially at home, especially against our biggest rival. That is the main thing. We pride ourselves, you know we lost three games at home this year we pride ourselves on doing everything possible not to lose at home."
