Noles Hit On Offensive Line And At Linebacker With Suspensions

Needless to say, the buzz at FSU is regarding the suspensions. Due to the Federal privacy rules, it has been difficult to determine who has been suspended for the bowl game. Here are a few tidbits pieced together from a variety of sources.

On offense, apparently Preston Parker, Antone Smith, Greg Carr and starting quarterback Drew Weatherford are among those not affected by the academic fraud case.

However, the offensive line will be without key personnel against Kentucky. It helps offensive line coach Rick Trickett that he has players who can take on two positions, such as tackle David Overmyer and guard Rodney Hudson. “We’re lucky to survive up front with two starters out,” Trickett said today. “We got (Evan) Bellamy and we moved Hudson to tackle. I still feel good about our first group and we basically have no second group.” Left tackle Daron Rose said after practice he was with the second team but would not elaborate. Bellamy worked with the first team at left tackle.

Linebacker Dekoda Watson, one of the Seminoles' top players, offered a no comment when asked if he was being suspended, but hinted that he might not be playing against the Wildcats.
