• MAC member Western Michigan comes to Tallahassee with a 7-3 record and having returned 17
starters from its 2005 team that finished 7-4. The Broncos, coached by Bill Cubit who is in his second
season, defeated Virginia in Charlottesville 17-10 on September 16th.
• Florida State has finished its ACC schedule this year going 3-5 and has Saturday’s non-conference
opponent Western Michigan and Florida on November 25 still looking for one more win to become bowl
eligible.
• Florida State comes off one of the more ironic two-week periods in week history having shutout
Virginia 33-0 on November 4 and then being shutout at home for the first time in the Bobby Bowden era
30-0 last Saturday. FSU’s shutout of Virgina was the first since November 1, 2003 when the
Seminoles shutout Notre Dame 37-0 in South Bend, Ind. Wake Forest’s shuout of FSU was the first
suffered by the Seminoles since the season opener at Miami in 1988 when the Hurricanes won 31-0.
