    FSU Defense Makes The Grade

What can you say after such a horrible game that was played on Saturday? Contrary to what Bobby Bowden says, I think there are more problems than just the penalties and turnovers.

    Offensive Line
: Rick Trickett's offensive line is a work in progress. They allowed one sack but the running game was non-existient and the QBs were scrambling.
    Grade: C-

Running Game: Smith had 24 yards and one fumble. He has yet to show what he says he is capable of doing.
    Grade: D

QB: QB play by both Ponder and Richardson was awful. 5 interceptions among them says it all.
    Grade: D-

Offensive Coaching: Jimbo Fisher needs to go back to the drawing board.
    Grade: D-

Receivers: Poor passing and other factors contributed to a terrible showing by the receiving corps.
    Grade: C-

Defense and Defensive Coaching: Mickey Andrews and his defense brought their A game and was the lone positive in this awful game. However, Nole secondary was burned many times and got lucky due to overthrown passes by Skinner.Once again the Noles failed to get an interception.
    Grade: B

Penalties: Need I even mention the 139 yards in penalties?
    Grade: F

Kicking Game: Shawn Powell averaged almost 48 yards a punt. Gano was back and was 1 for 2.
    Grade: B-
