    Jeff Bowden and "Special Projects"

So now that Jeff Bowden and the boosters have signed the $537,000 agreement, what's next? Well, beginning in August, 2007, Jeff will do special projects for the university. I wonder what those will be? I have thought what the special projects would be if I were in charge and what they might be in reality. Here goes.

If I were in charge of the special projects for Jeff:

    1. Polish all the statues outside the stadium with special attention to your dad's statue.

    2. Be in charge of the Coke orders for the games. After all, this is your paycheck.

    3. Stand outside the stadium during gamedays and greet the fans.

    4. Open the mail of all the FSU Seminoles Booster members who cancel their memberships.

    5. Be in charge of sending thank you letters to all the coaches who leave FSU. Explain to them why they won't get a severance package like you.

The reality of the special projects:

    1. Drive the golf cart for your dad on the Bobby Bowden Boosters golf tour.

    2. Go on the annual cruise with the coaches and FSU fans and schmooze with everyone.

    3. Be in charge of the incoming letters to dad and make sure he sees nothing negative.

    4. Stay at home and go to the mailbox on the days the check arrives.

    5. Stand in the tower with your dad and tell him how awful fans are.
