    FSU Recruit Prospect: D'Angelo McCray

D'Angelo McCray took an official visit to Florida State this past weekend. The FSU visit is the last one before he is scheduled to announce.McCray took his official to Illinois earlier in the year and at one point was committed to Florida before re-opening his recruitment.

Analysis: McCray is an all-around, very good athlete. What makes him special is that you can seriously recruit him for numerous positions at the college level. He combines size with good athleticism and a nice motor. As a defensive prospect, he could be a defensive end or tackle in college. He plays defensive end in high school and plays it well, but looking at his physical nature, it is most likely that he will develop into a one-gap penetrating defensive tackle in time. He is physical at the point of attack and is very violent with his hands. He can hold his ground versus the single block and shed to make the play. He runs well for a big man and can pursue. He has good change-of-direction skills. He is a solid tackler who needs to work on wrapping up. His size as a pass rusher allows him to be able to get some push, and with his athleticism at tackle, he could defeat blockers with quick moves. McCray is also a very good tight end prospect, and this may even be his best fit at the college level. He possesses very good size for the position and the ability to be both effective in the run and passing game. McCray should only continue to get bigger and could grow into an extra tackle on the field who can catch passes for you. McCray is an excellent prospect. He will probably be a defensive tackle or tight end at the college level.

Ranked #61 in ESPN 150. Originally committed to Florida. Will make official announcement on ESPNU on Dec. 14.
