My Top 10 Plays of 2006

My purely subjective Top Ten Plays of the 2006 FSU football season.

    10. Clemson kicker Dean has PAT kick attempt blocked by FSU's Timmons and returned for two points by Tony Carter.

    9. Clemson kicker Dean has field goal attempt from 32 blocked by FSU's Robinson and recovered by FSU's Carter who returns it 69 yards for TD.

    8. Greg Carr has an acrobatic catch for a 25 yard TD in the end zone to tie score against Florida.

    7. Troy QB Haugabook's pass intercepted by Geno Hayes at the Troy 40 to seal the victory over Troy with less than three minutes left in the game.

    6. Miami QB Kyle Wright's pass intercepted by FSU's Ray Garvin at the Miami 33 to seal the FSU victory over Miami with little over a minute left in game.

    5. With little over two minutes in the game and the scored tied, Clemson RB Davis rushes 47 yards to the FSU 4. Clemson later scores for the TD and win.

    4. FSU sustained drive in fourth quarter of 17 plays and 68 yards against Boston College ends on Boston College 9 yard line on fourth and four with an incomplete pass from Weatherford to Antone Smith. TD would have tied the game.

    3. Xavier Lee throws deep pass to Greg Carr 19 yards in end zone against Western Michigan for TD to take a 28-13 commanding lead over Western Michigan. FSU becomes bowl eligible with the win.

    2. With Florida State trailing Maryland 27-24 in the fourth, Cismesia's FG kick is blocked by Maryland with 49 seconds left in the game to seal Maryland victory.

    1. FSU QB Drew Weatherford's fourth quarter pass intercepted by NC State at the NC State 19 with FSU trailing 24-20. The drive was 9 plays for 56 yards with less than three minutes remaining in the game. This was a devastating loss for FSU at the hands of a team that was clearly inferior. NC State lost the rest of its games after the FSU win.
