Worst and Best ACC Head Coaching Performances for 2006

    12. FSU Head Coach Bobby Bowden: Noles were picked to be winners of the Atlantic Division prior to season. Bowden had his son Jeff as offensive coordinator again, started Drew Weatherford most of the season ,and had no new ideas.

    11. NC State Head Coach Chuck Amato: The only one that he could beat consistently was FSU. After Phillip Rivers left, it was all downhill for Chuck the Chest.

    10. Miami Head Coach Larry Coker: Coker could not maintain control of team and ran out of gas this year.

    9. Duke Head Coach Ted Roof: Duke just cannot compete in ACC football.

    8. NC Head Coach John Bunting: Bunting never could get the team headed in the right direction.

    7. Virginia Head Coach Al Groh: Virginia still a medicore team in the ACC.

    6. Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden: He seems to have reached his potential.

5.Maryland Head Coach Ralph Friedgen: Maryland was decent football team this year in ACC.

4.Boston Head Coach Tom O'Brien: Boston College played tough and won most of their games.

3.Georgia Tech Head Coach Chan Gailey: Ga. Tech had excellent year in ACC as champions of their division.

    2. Va. Tech Head Coach Frank Beamer: Year in and year out, he has quality teams.
