Florida's football team will be without one of its key playmakers for Saturday's game against Tennessee. Florida senior wide receiver Andre Caldwell, who rushed for one touchdown against Troy last week, will miss Saturday's game against Tennessee. Andre “Bubba” Caldwell will miss the game after being injured in Florida's win over Troy, according to sources. Caldwell, a senior wide receiver, suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament on the first play of the second half. He is also expected to miss next week's game against Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss.
The Buffs will get an infusion of confidence this week if all goes according to plan. Coach Dan Hawkins said Sunday he expects true freshman wide receiver Josh Smith to make his debut when Florida State comes to town. Hawkins said he also expects starting tailback Hugh Charles to return after missing the ASU game with a strained hamstring.
Both players are among the five fastest on the roster. Smith was the surprise of training camp before suffering a kidney injury during an Aug. 18 scrimmage. He spent four days in the hospital.
