    Manifest Destiny

It's not often that the Noles travel west of the Mississippi for a regular season football game. The last regular-season game FSU played west of the Mississippi was in 2002 when the Noles opened in Kansas City against Iowa State in the Eddie Robinson Classic. FSU won that game 38-31.

Bobby Bowden got his first FSU win against a Big 12 team, Kansas State, on October 2, 1976. He also has a winning record versus every team in the Big 12 except for Oklahoma who Bowden has never beaten (0-4). Bowden is 20-6 against Big 12 teams. Only two schools in the Big 12 have ever defeated a Bobby Bowden coached Seminole team. One is Oklahoma and the other is Nebraska. Bowden is undefeated versus Colorado (1-0), Iowa State (1-0), Kansas (3-0), Oklahoma State (3-0), Texas A&M (2-0) and Texas Tech (2-0).

Florida State does not have a single player on its roster from the state of Colorado. Only six players on the Seminole roster grew up west of the Mississippi river. FSU has never played at Colorado and the first time FSU played Colorado at home, the Noles soundly defeated them 47-7 in 2003.
