    Done Deal

In what many see as the beginning of the end for the Bobby Bowden era, FSU president T.K. Wetherell held a press conference earlier today to announce officially that there is a succession plan in place and Jimbo Fisher is the coach in waiting.

With Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher in attendance, Wetherell outlined Bowden's contributions and at the same time stressed the need for a succession plan. Jimbo Fisher was quick to say that he was"...humbled and honored by (the) announcement." He added that "Coach Bowden is going to be the head coach as long as he wants to be here and we know the future. So, quit picking at us."

Details of the contracts have not been fully finalized and will not be available for a couple of weeks. The contracts apparently have a significant buy out clause and salary increase for Jimbo Fisher as well as a substantial increase in Bobby Bowden's salary and a reported one time payment of $1 million for Bowden upon his retirement.

More information will be provided as it is forthcoming.
