As recruiting for 2008 begins to wind down, Nole coaches are hot on the recruiting trail and recruits are taking official visits to FSU. The following will be visiting FSU this weekend:
David Spurlock (6'5"/290)- He is an offensive lineman from Tennessee who is notable for having over 60 pancake blocks on the season. According to Spurlock, “Recruiting is going pretty good. I have around 12 offers and I am focusing in on Florida State, N.C. State, North Carolina and Louisville." FSU has not been in the hunt for long but says Spurlock," I am interested in FSU because they are FSU. I like them a lot, and I like Coach Trickett. It’s a good place to play football. "
Terrance Parks (6'1"/200)- He is a corner from Georgia and has made a verbal committment to the Noles. He did visit Auburn but he is still considered a solid commit for the Noles.
Quinton Coples (6'7"/240)- He is a defensive end from Virginia and is being widely recruited by a lot of schools. He has made no verbal commit to any school. Says Coples of Florida State, "I met Chuck Amato when he was at (NC) State. I don't really know too much... I'm going to take this visit and find out a little bit more about them. I know they do put players in the league, and they have a lot of people in the league currently."
Leon Mackey (6'4"/278)- Mackey is from same school as Quinton Coples and is also a defensive end. He has a ton of offers from such schools as Buffalo, Temple, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Florida State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Boston College, Clemson, Maryland, Virginia, Wake Forest, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Florida, South Carolina, Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. His top list is FSU, Va. Tech, NC State, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, and Ohio State. He has a special affection for the SEC.
Nigel Bradham (6'2"/225)- Linebacker Nigel Bradham is from nearby Wakulla and is one of the top recruits for the Noles and in the nation for 2008. He is ranked #1 in the country at his position by some recruiting services. He has made a verbal commit to the Noles. Bradham has great size, speed and strength. He plays middle linebacker and is active and everywhere on the field.
